BSA Robotics Badge Event
What is the scout badge event?
Hosted by Team 930 and our Society of Women Engineers Chapter (SWENext): SWEBEARs is holding a one-day event for Scouts. At this event, Scouts have the ability to receive 2 merit badges and an event patch.
When is it?
The event will be held on Saturday, June 28th from 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
Where is it?
The event will be held at Mukwonago High School Commons (Cafeteria). You will enter the High School through Door 4. Members of Team 930 will be present to walk your child to the event.
Who can attend?
Our Scout Badge is open to Scouts from ages 11-17 and from any school district.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT?
Scouts will be led by members of SWEBEARs on different projects and tasks throughout the day related to programming, building, and displaying their robots. Experiencing all elements of a FIRST LEGO League season, scouts will be exposed to LEGO Spike Prime kits.
Scouts will need to pack a lunch and snacks as well as bringing a water bottle. These are not provided, however a lunch break will happen and there are bottle refill stations at Mukwonago High School so water will be avalible if they run out.
Chaparones are not needed. We will have several robotics team members and team mentors that will be assisting with this event. However, parents and chaperones are always welcome to stay.
Prerequisites
Scouts participating in the Programming merit badge, must view the Personal Safety Awareness "Digital Safety" video (with your parent or guardian's permission.)
For both badges, they need a blue card signed by their scout master.
What if I only need one badge?
In the event you already have one of the badges but you would like to get the other one, we can accommodate that. Please indicate that in your registration signup under comments.
What does it cost?
The registration fee is $30 per scout. Our team accepts cash or checks made payable to “Mukwonago Bears Team 930.” Payment is expected at the event.
How do I sign up?
Click the Sign Up link in the box below and fill out the form. Registration will close on June 15. Sign up quick because there are only 30 spots!
