Girl Scout Robotics Badge Event
What is the girl scout badge event?
Hosted by Team 930 and our Society of Women Engineers Chapter (SWENext): SWEBEARs is holding a day event for Junior Girl Scouts. At this event, Girl Scouts have the ability to receive 3 badges, Programming, Building, and Displaying Robots which is provided with the registration costs. The scouts will also receive an event patch.
When is it?
The event will be held on Sunday, June 29th from 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
Where is it?
The event will be held at Mukwonago High School Commons(Cafeteria). You will enter the High School through Door 4. Members of Team 930 will be present to walk your child to the event.
Who can attend?
Our Girl Scout Badge is open to Junior level Girl Scout Troops from any school district. You do not need to participate as an entire troop. We have had individual scouts and partial troops participate in the past.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT?
Girls will be led by members of SWEBEARs on different projects and tasks throughout the day related to programming, building, and displaying their robots. Experiencing all elements of a FIRST LEGO League season, girls will be exposed to LEGO Spike Prime kits.
Scouts will need to pack a lunch and snacks as well as bringing a water bottle. These are not provided, however a lunch break will happen and there are bottle refill stations at Mukwonago High School so water will be avalible if they run out.
Chaparones are not needed. We will have several robotics team members and team mentors that will be assisting with this event. However, parents and chaperones are always welcome to stay.
What does it cost?
The registration fee to attend is $30 per girl. Our team accepts cash or checks made payable to “Mukwonago Bears Team 930.” You can pay for the whole troop in one check or each participant individually. Payment is expected at the event.
