The 2025–2026 season has officially come to a close, and what a season it has been! As many know, Team 930 had the incredible opportunity to attend the Houston World Championship once again this year. It is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and passion our students poured into every moment of this season. After an 18‑hour bus ride, we arrived in Houston on Tuesday afternoon, tired but excited for the days ahead.
Before competition began, we took some time to explore the city. We visited the iconic Houston Water Wall, where our team held a fun mini‑race in the park. On Wednesday, we toured the Houston Tunnels, learning about the city’s unique underground system before heading to the George R. Brown Convention Center to begin practice matches.
Thursday and Friday were packed with qualification matches in the Newton Division. Competing against teams from across the globe pushed us in new ways; every match brought different strategies, driving styles, and robot designs that challenged us to adapt quickly. Facing such a diverse field reminded us just how special and competitive the FIRST community truly is.
Saturday began with alliance selection, where we were honored to be chosen as the first pick of the 5th alliance. Our alliance captain was Team 1833, Team BEAN from Georgia, joined by Team 180, S.P.A.M. from Florida, and Team 3966, Gryphon Command from Tennessee. Together, we formed a strong alliance ready for the playoffs.
Although we lost the first round of the playoffs, we refused to let that define our run. Match by match, we fought our way back, climbing through the bracket and earning a spot in the Newton Division finals. While we did not advance to the next round on Einstein, we are proud to call ourselves Newton Finalists. This achievement reflects the resilience and teamwork of every student, mentor, and supporter behind this robot.
We also want to congratulate the Newton Division’s winning alliance - 2910 Jack in the Bot from and 2046 Bear Metal from Washington, 868 TechHOUNDS from Indiana, and 4206 Robo Vikes from Texas - for becoming World Championship finalists. Their performance was inspiring, and we’re proud to have competed alongside such outstanding teams.
This event was the perfect way to end our season. We are incredibly grateful for the experiences we shared, the teams we met, and the memories we created. Most importantly, we want to thank our students, especially our seniors, for their leadership, dedication, and heart. They have shaped this team in ways that will last long after the season ends.
We are gearing up for our summer activities. Stay toned for more updates.
