The sponsor letter has not gone out on its usual cadence due to our team’s focus being placed on our competitions. Let us tell you what an amazing several weeks that we have had.
During week seven, our team attended the Sussex scrimmage—a preseason practice event where teams could test their robots in real match conditions. This gave us a valuable chance to evaluate our robot’s shooting capabilities alongside other teams and provided our drive team with essential hands-on experience ahead of our first official competition at Lakeland University on March 6.
The first event we went to was the Lakeland District event which was the first week of the competition season on March 6th to 8th. We did fairly well at the event, coming in second place in the qualification matches and being a finalist in the playoffs. Winning the Engineering Inspiration Award which celebrates a team who demonstrates outstanding success in advancing respect and appreciation for engineering within a team’s school or organization and community..
Between the Lakeland and Mukwonago events, we opened our shop to several visiting teams, giving them access to our field and equipment as they prepared for their own competitions. Supporting other teams is a core part of our program’s mission, and we were proud to help them gear up for the season.
From March 27–29, we hosted the Mukwonago District Event, welcoming teams from across Wisconsin to our home venue. During the event, we had the opportunity to give Representative Chuck Wichgers a tour, highlighting the dedication of our students and volunteers in organizing and running a high-quality competition. We also partnered with Nicolet FEAR to host a FIRST Ladies event, celebrating and empowering women in STEM.
Our final regular district event of the season was the Seven Rivers Event, held April 2–4. We finished 6th in qualification rounds, were selected for the second alliance, and earned the Industrial Design Award in recognition of our robot’s engineering excellence and on-field performance. Our success at Seven Rivers secured our qualification for the Wisconsin State Championship.
We are gearing up for this weekend which is the Wisconsin State Championship at Brookfield East High School. On April 17th to the 19th. We will find out if we qualify for the World Championship in Houston. We would love to see you there.
